Soil Hub Hungary

Agri Kulti has established Soil Hub Hungary (SHH), an advocacy network designed to unite organizations, experts and farmers to jointly work towards soil protection and regeneration in Hungary. SHH aims to facilitate communication between various stakeholders and support policymakers in developing decisions and funding frameworks that prioritize soil conservation as a key element of sustainable agriculture. In 2024, SHH initiated a pilot project focused on driving policy change and reforming the agricultural subsidy system to better support soil preservation.

We work together closely with farmers, soil scientists, researchers and policymakers to design a hybrid agricultural subsidy program, combining management and results-based approaches. This program aims to incentivize improved soil management practices, such as reducing tillage, enhancing agro-biodiversity, and promoting permanent soil cover, particularly through cover crops. Additionally, we have been working on the development of educational resources and educational videos to assist farmers and agricultural advisors in adopting these practices.
